Buzz buzz!

I work at a school with very low income kids. I have learned how much more love and attention these kids need, and I have found it is easier to be honest and upright with them than trying to hide things. So today, I had my back remote with me. One of my kiddos (one who often comes up to me with this look of mischief on his face) asked what it was. I said it was for my back. He said "oh yeah, for your robot wires." (We have chatted before about my back). Then another kid said "what do your wires do?" So I told them that I can use my remote and it makes the wires move to make my back feel better. At which point they said, "I want to feel it!" I told them they wouldn't be able to feel anything, but all of them put their hands only back. So I pressed a few buttons, and their eyes went big and they all proceeded to tell me how they felt my wires zapping my back (which you really cannot feel externally at all). I love my kiddos... They are so funny!

Happy 3 day Valentines weekend!

I love three day weekends. Gives me a day to play, a day to rest and a day to clean.

Bryson and I have been running through our behinds the last few weeks. So we made a commitment to spend the weekend together.

Friday night Bryson cooked me an amazing Valentines dinner. Coffee crusted rib-eye steak, asparagus wrapped in prosciutto, mashed potatoes... Yum!

Saturday we went out to brunch with Bryson's family and then went on a movie date to see Lincoln. We had not been to see a movie in a long time. It was nice to have a date.

Sunday we went down to a friend's 40th birthday in Thornton. It was good to reconnect with old friends.

Today we cleaned the house a bit and went to dinner at a Greek restaurant.

Happy date weekend to us!

Thanksgiving 2012

We had our first thanksgiving back with family this year! Our in-laws got together since our siblings were not around this year, which meant we didn't have to travel much.

Love being with our parents!

Very thankful for time with our families!

We were also able to get away for the night up to the Denver mountains. Nice relaxing time before the craziness of Christmas and surgery prep. 24 days till back surgery #3.

the garden of eden is in Jackson County, Missouri...

Today we had a date day down to Denver to see the Book of Mormon musical. It was so much fun to get to spend the day together down in Denver. We got the tickets way before we knew where we would be moving to, (Sarah actually spent 2 hours online trying to get tickets the morning they went on sale to get them... it was sold out by 12:30 that day!) and we were happy that we actually got to use them! The musical was hilarious, but definitely not high brow musical material. Very crass in many parts, but so stinking funny too!

The tickets! So glad we got down there in time to get them from Will Call. The CU/CSU game was also today, so traffic was a mess! We got to our seats on time though!

Here we are! We were there!

Wahoo! Bryson is super excited for picture time.

After the show, we went to a restaurant called Sam's No. 3. This was part of our "Diners, Drive Ins and Dives" restaurant eating experiences

What a fun day with great company in the Mile High City!
